Train Lines

Ashton Under Lyne

These lines are above Lower Wharf Street and are on a series of arches over he River Tame and the canal. I as walking back from the town centre of Ashton back to my friends Land Rover garage.

At the moment the old blue Land Rover is in for some much needed TLC... in fact I think I took it over one bump to many. Anyhow it is in very good hands with its rightful owner 'Leaky Roof'

At over 40 years old this vehicle sure is testament to just how well these are built and designed, even if the folk behind the wheel try their best to prove other wise... ;O)

Water View

I resently stopped by here to have a walk about and take a shot of the bridge and the boundary stone.

Over the bridge theres a nice view up stream of a weir, I had taken the shot before I noticed that there was a Grey Heron.. mid-stream sat as still as can be hunting it's dinner.

When I was growing up it was a rare sight to one of these...

Now it's as easy as popping my head over a wall and theres one there waiting.

Tin Men On Parade

Saw these on a factory top in Ashton Under Lyne and thought of the Tin Man from the Wizard Of OZ.

Cobbles And Canals

Same place as yesterday, but I took the idea from Rune who commented yesterday on how the pictures might look good in B & W. So todays pictures and post are dedicated to my good friend from Norway...... if you have never visited Rune's Visual Norway then please do so... you will not be dissapointed
