Cheethams Park
Stalybridge
.
This is not an ancient site made by a race of men long gone.... it is most proberly the brain child of one of the gardners here at the park.
I must admit that where it is situated is a very good choice... right at the far end of the park.... just by the entrance to the woods.
If I had seen this as a child it would have become a favourite spot to play, even now it as a certain feel about the place. I sat here for a good half hour taking in the sights, sounds and smell of the place. Who ever it was that thought this up deserves praise as the area is so peaceful.
In the back ground can be seen the old brick barn I showed a day or two back... and at the side is the woodland path.

Wonderful post my friend, I would have sat there all day.
I understand D H Lawrence lived not far from there when he wrote his novel, Lady Chatterley's Lover.
(Lady Chatterley modelled after the most interesting Lady Ottoline Morell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Ottoline_Morrell)
You could pretent this site is the place of the woodcutters cottage and imagine the fair Lady enjoying the rough appearance of the woodcutter and lovingly admiring and his c--k.
Awe, fantasies of forest life!
what interesting place i would like to spend some time here as well, hope all is well with you Tom it has been a long time since i have visited you, and i took the summer off from blogging as i volunteered to raise baby kittens. Must of fostered about 60
I agree. This looks like a wonderful place.
I can see that this is a magical place. A lovely spot to sit and dream, and perhaps write a poem or two.
It is a nice place to sit... in fact the park and the woodlands are magical in their own right. Some of the larger Oaks must be well over 200 years old... I have lots more to show you from here as I have spent a few mornings here.
Does look very peaceful indeed. Would be a lovely place to rest.
Your monochrome shot evokes the nature that they could have stood for many years. :)
I love the shot of the sun streaming through and the shadows -a lovely image and it beckons us to come and sit awhile and enjoy the peace.
This is a lovely, enticing spot. I would have sat there a good long time, and then ducked into the woods to explore.
Tom, I could spend weeks in these woods...they have a feeling of ancient magic about them. Those stones date back to who knows when, and it feels right to have them placed upright again.
Don't they look like waystones marking a camping spot for trolls of old?
What a wonderful place. I've looked through your blog this morning and have enjoyed viewing each image. Keep it up.
This is a lovely place indeed.
