I hope you and Jane are well. This is an interesting series on the carvings, with excellent photographs.

In answer to your question about the elk antlers: I think most are angled to the rear, but many are not to the extent that this bull's antlers are. This is an exceptional classically beautiful bull and this would likely be considered the ideal configuration for the antlers to have.
