Wednesday Nights Moon and clear sky give me the chance to fire off a shot or two from the comfort of my front door..... no tripod was used I simply leaned against the door frame and took the shot. I had been told that below and to the left of the moon could be seen Mars.... it was in fact just a speck, but a red speck at that. I found it very hard to focus on... but after a few tries this was the best result from simply pointing the camera and shooting. I loaded this in Googles Picasa 3 and tightly cropped it. Ha! not the best shot of Mars I've seen, but its 'my' shot and that's what matters.
