Dandelion 'Wet The Beds' 2

What a shame these beauties are so intrusive and hard to get rid of. Pop back tomorrow I will post some pictures of the seed heads.

Hi Tom! These shots are stunning, it makes me realise I have not looked at them close enough.

I was told the wet the bed aspect of touching these flowers as a child. Is it true? The fear of wetting the bed was enough to make me keep my fingers out of my mouth, because of course I would have to touch the flowers, and everything else like most children, but I was never sure if it was a myth to keep fingers away from mouths!

Happy weekend to you!

Hi Dancin, great to see your name here... I think the story is a myth..

If someone had taken out a patent and sold them, they would have cost a fortune. Beautiful!

Like gold they look in my orchard in spring, swarming with bees and insects enjoying the abundance of nectar and pollen. The Galahs arrive to eat the flowers and I arrive with my hoe to hack out the leaves for my chooks! Naturally it is a different approach in the formal flowerbeds, there they are not so much appreciated. Have a nice week.

Tom: You do have to get up close to realize the beauty of that evasive weed.

We had a great crop of these this year. :) I actually saw some fields covered with the seed heads that I thought was pretty!
