We used the same old saying but used a sailor. Red sky at night sailor's delight, red sky in the morning sailor's take warning. Maybe not the same but similar.
My mom used to raise canary birds in our house before and during WWII. We always had one or more of them singing. It was a mess when they laid eggs and hatched them. Mom didn't clean the cages as often then and a lot of feathers went on the floor.

Lovely red sky!
My Dad often used this expression.
Beautiful photo and capture. Our saying is "red sky in the morn' sailorz' warning, red sky at night sailors' delight".

It makes a pretty picture even if it is a warning.
Tom: What a neat sky, doesn't look too scarry.
It may not be a weather warning at all. It may just be industrial pollution! Yikes.
I don't care if it a warning of bad weather or not...it is a lovely photograph and I have stolen it to use as the background on my desktop!
You say shepherds I say that but here everyone says sailor. Must be a coastal thing. It's a beauty.
It's actually mentioned in the bible. Love the shot, Tom!
Wonderful colours in your photo, great view for Sky Watch Friday.
