We see these more or less where ever there is water. I was surprised to find out resently that these our most popular of ducks are now on the decline, and have been added to the 'Amber Alert' list of species of conservation concern.

Nice ones, especially the first one. On the decline? You can get as many as you want form us. We have plenty.

They are the same over here, Tom. I mean they look the same. It must be one of the few universal ducks around. I didn't know they were on the decline but did know that many of our birds are missing this year as are the butterflies.

In nature the males are always,more showy than the females. Love male mallards green heads. Maybe because we are an island we have a rather large duck collection. I am happy to say we have an abundance of mallards, but I'll have to check out the island stats now.
