Vera's passion as been her garden, she and George can still be found in the garden on fine days weeding and potting up their many planters.
I took these a few days ago.... and thought then that George was not looking to good, so today I was not surprised when he asked me to run him up to the local hospital.
Luckily he realised something was up... I spent the afternoon and early evening settling him in hospital where the levels can be bought down safely. Mean while Jane was comforting Vera and sorting out phone calls and such. It's times like these that we all need friends and good neighbours. When I was very ill and in hospital both George and Vera were there to help out Jane. I feel honoured to know them both and hope this all ends well with George back tending the roses and Vera fussing over him.

I hope the best for George and Vera. By the way, I can only see one photo, the last one of a pansy.
George and Vera sound like good neighbors to have. I like it how you all got along so well. It is something like that here but people are not neighborly here like they were where I was born in a tiny village.
I came back to see if the photos are showing up now and they are, all of them.
You are lucky to have such good neighbors and they are fortunate to have you and Jane. Lovely blooms you captured here Tom. George & Vera must take very good care of their garden.
Very beautiful flowers. They bloom under the very good care of their owners. I hope your neighbours and yourself will be in the pink of health.
Tom, an INR of 20 would scare me s...less! I get almost unstoppable nosebleeds above 3.5, especially in hot weather. I wonder if there was smething in his diet in the way of summer vegetables that made it go through the roof? Garlic is a known blood thinner. I take it he is on Warfarin which is a pest anyway because it is totally erratic and so hard to find a level where it stabilises. I have to stay above 3 but hate it when it goes over 3.5.
I do hope all goes well and he will be home reasonably soon. I'll be thinking of you all, where this sort of thing happens it oncerns all of us who are in the same boat.
Thank you all for your comments on this.. and as Arija states an INR of 20 is scary. George dose have other illnesses to contend with.... and of late as dropped weight. He was given a course of anitbiotics which do mess with the Warfarin... but not by this amount....
Once again thankyou.
I do hope that George's issues are settled soon...neighbors such as he and Vera are hard to find. I think you are both lucky to have each other.
What lovely neighbours you have! Hope all is well and he recovers soon .. to tend to that beautiful garden
Great stuff Tom! neighbours are indeed a treasure! How is George?
Good neighbours are there for each other. I wish George a speedy recovery.
Next time, George accidentally gets a cut, tell him to prepare a charcoal. Pulverize it and sprinkle around the cut to stop the bleeding. This is only an emergency measure.
Lovely flowers from George and Vera. And lovely shots by you too. Hi to your wife as well!
Sounds like you and Jane are good neighbours! I'm sure it's a huge relief for them to know you are there and can be relied on to help.
